Kaski — Privacy Policy

Effective July 3, 2026

What this is

Kaski is a private household finance application used by its own household members. It is not a public product and does not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.

What data we collect

  • Account information you provide: email address and household membership.
  • Financial data via Plaid: when you connect a bank or financial account, Plaid shares account details (name, type, balance) and transaction history with us, per your authorization during the Plaid Link flow.
  • Usage data: standard server logs for operating the app.

How we use it

Solely to provide the app's core function: an automated household ledger — categorizing transactions, tracking balances, and surfacing spending insights to household members. We do not use your financial data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

  • Plaid — to establish and maintain the connection to your financial institutions.
  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider.
  • Anthropic — used to power automated transaction categorization; transaction descriptions and amounts may be sent for this processing.

We do not share your data with any other third party, and never sell it.

How we protect it

Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control enforced at the database level, and two-factor authentication available on every account.

How long we keep it

Financial data is retained while your account remains connected. Disconnecting a bank removes our ability to pull new data immediately; historical data is kept as part of the household's financial record unless deletion is requested.

Your rights

Any household member may request a copy of their data or its deletion at any time by contacting shaylee.olson@gmail.com.
